MEMSCAP has developed a fully packaged, hermetic, SMT compatible MEMS magnetic switch that is an ideal replacement for micro-reed switch applications. Both normally open and normally closed switches have been developed allowing more flexibility in design. The device has advantages over traditional reed switches in that it has a high shock tolerance (>1000G) and a small footprint (1.8mm x 1.8mm).
